Self Sovereign Identity services

Self-sovereign identity (SSI) gives individuals or entities control of their digital identities. SSI addresses the difficulty of establishing trust in an interaction. To be trusted, a Holder in an interaction presents verifiable credentials to a Verifier, and those relying parties can verify that the credentials came from an Issuer that they trust. In this way, the Verifier’s trust in the Issuer is transferred to the verifiable credential Holder. This basic structure of SSI, with the three participants, is generally referred to as “The Trust Triangle”.

Liquid Avatar Technologies supports individuals, organizations, and enterprises as they migrate to digital identity, through LAVCE, by providing biometric and bank-grade identification verification and validation services.

SSI together with verifiable credentials creates a user’s digital identity and can help to create alternatives for confirming access to specific online platforms, improving entitlement to services, and potentially reducing fraud.

Digital identity, especially biometrically secured digital identity, helps confirm that a user is a real person and can support access to a range of services and offerings, potentially reducing hacking, phishing, and fraudulent activities both online and conventionally.

LAVCE offers 3 levels of digital identity services:

Level 1 Identity Verification – One User / One Account

Integrating conventional access credentials with enhanced technology to create an initial verifiable credential for identity, the LAVCE supports identity verification through the validation of a liveness biometrics face scan, username and password and then, using a verified email, creates your first verifiable credential. This service starts the one user / one account process, providing real users with a single account, potentially reducing online fraud.

Level 2 Identity Verification – KYC and AML Review

Upgrading your digital identity to the next level, the LAVCE uses industry and jurisdictionally recognized best practices for identity verification know as “KYC” (Know Your Customer), and “AML” (Anti Money Laundering) checks with credit bureaus and other recognized organizations to verify a user’s identity. In addition to a biometric validation, KYC includes validation of a government-issued proof of identity like a driver’s license, passport, and / or government identity card. This provides a secondary step to ensure that a user is who they say they are and allows enhanced access to certain services, programs, and verifications.

Level 3 Identity Verification – POR / POA and other attributes

Completing identity validation and creating a “bank grade” level of verification, the LAVCE process includes Proof of Residence or Address (POR or POA). This process ensures that a user has been fully verified using conventional verification and validation processes. Individuals can enhance their digital identity with further attributions like financial accreditation, educational and professional accreditations, designations, and other items that further support their digital identity.
